Description:

On 18 June 2022, the pilot of the Z-37A aircraft was treating a maize field (applying biological material) between Jamolice and Polánka at a spraying height of 3–5 m above the maize tops from the working area of Dobelice in the eastern-western direction. On the eastern edge of the plot, there are two electric power lines (22 kV and 110 kV) over which the pilot flew. When flying over the power line, he touched the combined grounding cable of the VHV line (110 kV) with the right gear wheel between support mast points 195 and 196 and broke it in an unspecified length. The pilot felt a little jerk, but since he did not notice anything extraordinary, he continued in the flight. As he kept flying, he saw that fire brigade and police cars were coming to the said place and thought that the jerk could mean that he had touched and broken the line with its landing gear. That is why he landed at the Dobelice area and checked the aircraft technical condition. He did not find any damage to the landing gear. He went to the site of the incident and reported to the Czech Police patrol. The aircraft sustained no damage.

The incident was caused by an erroneous estimation of altitude during overhead line flyover and subsequent collision of the aircraft landing gear with the combined grounding cable.
