On 9 May 2006 Air Accident Investigation Institute (AAII) was notified by the ATC of a serious incident involving an MD-82 airplane of Alitalia company, flight AZ 0513. It was reported that the plane had taxied on TWY L and RWY 24 to the holding bay short of RWY 13 and made runway incursion as it entered RWY 13 at junction with RWY 24. At that time an ATR 42 – 500, OK 773, airplane of Czech Airlines was about to land on RWY 13. The ATR 42 was instructed by TWR EC to follow the missed approach procedure. Based on the notification of the serious incident, an investigation got started.
